Realism
Realism is a aesthetic construct (a 'created' look) and put together by conventions.
Photo realism - merging a shot from something real into some film footage
Actuality - Real car crashes on TV
Realistic violence - filmed violence but enhanced with effects.
Unrealistic violence - Cartoon
Realism can be faked and we must not mistake it for authenticity.
Hyper Reality
A better expression of something than its real form. This is argued by the philosopher Baudrillard.

The Social Impact of Facebook and Twitter
Ambient Awareness
The idea of condensing your ideas into a small amount of words or symbols.
How close are you?
People can get to know each other on Facebook through chat and messaging, this will give them a sense of closeness. But on You tube you can actually see the person and therefor feel closer to them. The intimacy over the media varies between people, and some people think they can only be intimate over the media.
The fact that we have social media makes us want more relationships and lets them express them more.
We express commercialisation, but we value authenticity!
